February 26,2026 - The executive and coaches of the Prince Albert Minor Football Association are saddened to learn of the passing of Randy Whitter. Randy was the brother of longtime PAMFA executive member and pee wee River Riders head coach Wendell Whitter. Most people will remember Randy for his talents expressed through his catering business. Randy was also a soccer and football referee for many years. He helped officiate several River Riders games in the first five to ten years of our fall programs. It is in this capacity of helping develop local football players that we thank Randy for his time and efforts on the field, and we stand with the Whitter family and the wider community in mourning his passing.

"Growing The Game" is a podcast dedicated to helping grow the sport of football at all levels, from minor to pro, in Saskatchewan. It is hosted by Michael Ball, one of the Roughrider radio broadcasters. In Episode #2, starting at about 16:15, Coach Taras chats with the host mostly about PA Minor Football, its' early history, including the story of Max Clunie, who is the reason why we have the "MAX Power" logos on our helmets and jerseys. The successes of some PAMF alumni who have continued playing after their time with the River Riders is also discussed.
